brainwashing the young and twisted youth of today, megadestroyer is a collective of bad motherf*ckers out of vancouver, bc (including ryan smith, paul higgins & jeff brown). the rotating cast of characters contributing to their seasonal collections range from genuine leathersmith ken diamond to canadian tattoo legend steve moore to prolific vancouver artist the dark.

hell on wheels, jersey & leather drive the megadestroyer brand: tattoos, metal, leather, motorcycles & death are their bread & butter. we always get a solid batch of bad as hell graphic tees (printed in canada by skids) and accessories from the boys in vancouver - and we're happy to have a new autumn drop ready for our island boys in store at still life. maybe these aren't the tees you're going to wear to christmas dinner with nan - but then again maybe they are... lock up your daughters & wives, megadestroyer has arrived at still life for fall 2010.

• the shane: polished and sophisticated - a wardrobe staple. the shane in genetic's signature skinny jean. it is all around flattering, a style that perfectly contours your legs and thighs creating a long lean sillhouette
• the twig: genetic's mid-rise skinny provides coverage and support at the waist. it is fitted through the hips and thighs contouring the waist and creating a chic yet comfortable look. this style has a higher rise than the shane providing an alternative to the signature genetic skinny.
• the aztec: introduced this autumn, the aztec is genetic's stunning take on the classic skinny chino seen on everyone from hollywood starlets to fashion-house designers worldwide this season. paying homage to the classic cargo in premise, the aztec offers an polished alternative to denim rendered in tencel cotton twill. this new cut fits narrow retaining a polished drape evocative of the luxe, soft denim genetic is known for.

our relationship with hansel from basel just started this past september and we've already had to send in a complete reorder of sizes & colourways after a lightning-fast sell through on our women's side. back in both S/M and M/L sizes are all the hansel from basel tights we carried in september & october, plus an additional few new styles that we're really excited about. these went fast the first time, so grab them while they're here to stay cozy this winter.

hansel from basel is a quaint hosiery company created in los angeles by designer hannah byun. descending from a line of hosiery manufacturers, byun combines sock savvy with her love for art and design. the opportunity to create a line that is independent, whimsical, and design-oriented felt inevitable. hansel from basel was launched in november of 2006 and what started as a fun and creative design project propelled into a unique and internationally recognized women's hosiery brand.

hansel from basel is a small elfin character developed for an art project during hannah's years in grammar school. little hansel is as free spirited as they come. he loves to prance through the swiss alps, flowers in one hand and the biggest glob of chocolate in the other. hansel is an avid traveler and never leaves the alps without an extra pair of lederhosen, binoculars for sight seeing, and lovely socks.

our first batch of autumn 2010 brixton accessories flew out of the doors of still life. we've restocked in what was available at the brixton warehouse and are happy to have a strong selection of accessories for both our ladies & gentlemen.

created in 2004, the timeless and clean design of the brixton collection is hard to duplicate and comes in a variety of styles that appeal to the individual in a modern yet traditional way. each piece is constructed with the commitment to bringing the customer a high quality and limited product that they'll want to hold onto forever.

we're stocked with wallets & bottle-opening keyfobs for our guys, and a variety of on-point knit caps for the ladies. the 100% wool portman hat is cute though available in extremely limited quantities, and the skye hooded scarf is amazing - a chunky knit scarf with a button-on hood pictured on the right. come by soon if you're getting chilly as we head into november and we'll get you kitted up by brixton at still life.

with extremely strong construction and on-point styling, penfield has exploded at still life over the past year and a half we've been working with the american brand. work and trailwear styles that reflect the genuine article rather than an attempt to cash in on modern trends give their pieces the authenticity that we appreciate.

our second drop of penfield for autumn 2010 includes a variety of strong chambray and flannel shirting, the outback down vest, rugged cold weather accessories (backpacks, shoulder bags & scarves) and the farlstad hudson waxed field jacket (waterproof & ideal for vancouver island).

founded in stockholm in 1996, acne creative director jonny johoansson's ambition was to create and develop a lifestyle brand through desirable products. early adopters of acne's premium denim cuts included swedish elle, which featured the classic acne aesthetic in their magazine. focussing strongly on minimal detailing, clean lines & slim straight fits resulted in sweden's top fashion boutiques picking up the brand leading to its global success.

we're happily moving forward with acne womens at still life for autumn 2010 with two styles of denim: the kex in wet black hits low on the hip and is cut super slim all the way through the leg. the combination of soft stretch denim and the shape over the seat gives a perfectly tight & comfortable fit. a new model, the flex in wet blue has a narrow, tight fitting, non outer seam leg and a rise which is slightly higher than the kex. additionally we're offering a handful of garments ranging from silk cotton sweaters to long check plaid shirting. units and sizing in acne is limited for our girls, so call soon or pop in to visit the collection at 551 johnson street, still life boutique.
