This weekend Still Life For Her is proud to introduce 80%20 Shoes to Victoria by way of New York City. The concept behind 80%20 came from founder Ce Ce Chin’s observation that we tend to wear our favourite 20% of our wardrobe 80% of the time. Ken Diamond began to work with leather in the late 90′s and established Ken Diamond in 2003. The philosophy behind the works of Ken Diamond are simple: high quality leather goods with classic designs, entirely hand made in his Vancouver studio. For Him the Foxx Low Sneaker has returned again in rich brown leather finished with a marled grey upper. The Byron Mid Chukka follows a similar design with oiled leather finished with on-trend forrest green wool upper. Leather wallets (both zip-shut and bi-fold) will keep your banknotes secure while 100% leather driving gloves will keep your hands on the wheel (or handle bars). Taking inspiration from a summer spent in “Le Marais” cofounders Catherine Chen and Haley Boyd named their company after Paris’ most eclectic district. From flamboyant transvestites to traditional rabbis, there is just about something for everyone. And that is precisely the philosophy at Marais USA. As the brainchild of two young women determined to fill a gap in the modern market, Marais USA boasts a bevy of covetable basics that won’t leave your wallet empty.

Born and bred in Massachusetts and Colorado, Catherine and Haley moved to New York to attend Parsons School of Design in 2004. During their time in school, they made ends meet as waitresses in various restaurants around the city. Their college years of shoe shopping led them to identify a terrible abyss in the market: Simple, Versatile, Essential styles that don’t break the bank. As a result, the pair began their beloved company, Marais USA, in 2007. They now live and work in Brooklyn where they enjoy English summers and wearing plaid.
