The sun is out and Issue #46 of our favourite little Australian magazine, Frankie, is available and at Still Life For Her. Inside they're exploring the strange and the beautiful (and a few bits and bobs in between). The strange case of pink-for-girls and blue-for-boys. The beauty of outdated wallpaper. They're roadtesting cake mixes – and licking the bowl clean – while taking a look at iconic movie mums. They have a chat with some disabled creatives about abilities and art, meet a guy who likes to disguise himself with animal masks, take a trip to Istanbul and hear the fast-forward love story of two people who became instant parents only seven or so months after their first 'date'. Plus all the usual art, fashion, craft, music and quirk, and loads of things to make you smile and laugh.

Last week Jordan pulled some of our favourite spring looks off the racks Still Life For Him and styled our very own Colin Meredith for a little Chinatown/Harbour Side photoshoot with Jesse Savage of Savage Photography. Jesse came to us after working within the renowned Western Academy of Photography in Victoria, and with Colin's background modelling for Coultish Management, it seemed like a perfect fit to get the two young guys together for an easy evening shoot.

Jesse was hoping to shoot two looks: a classic British/Mod look featuring iconic Fred Perry basics, American denim from Tellason & accessories, and a second look taking advantage of the beautiful downtown landscape. We settled on a nautical theme with Filson & Penfield accessories, Fred Perry knitwear and our favourite coastal outerwear from Fjallraven.

If there's one thing all female Still Life staff, and Still Life For Her superfans know about the simple basics at the shop, it's that the absolute best variety season to season comes directly from Los Angeles and the design-perfectionists at James Perse. Designer and dreamer by day, Allison creates clothes that she and her friends want to wear, often inspired by references from the 1970s.
