Today we're happy to get a beautiful new collection of cards from the Red Cap artists with sentiments expressing love, admiration and birthday well wishes as we approach Valentines Day and all those Spring Birthdays! We've received stocks offering sentiments from Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas to Happy Birthday & Thank You. As they work with a mix of illustrators from around the world, the inspiration for Red Cap Cards comes from a variety of sources from fairy tales and flemish painters to playful elegance and sophisticated delight. Winter is coming... and Brixton Winter 2011 goods are now available at Still Life For Him & For Her.

Influenced by the So-Cal lifestyles they inhabit, the fine folks at Brixton have grown their brand from simply headwear & accessories to a full-scale retail fashion range offering cut & sew shirting, bottoms and outerwear to the rest of the world. Our first Autumn 11 delivery of Brixton goods For Him & For Her sold through fast, with knit toques and felt hats keeping our friends' heads warm while the zip-through vests and layering henleys kept them looking good.

This second delivery, the first from Brixton's Holiday/Winter 11 range brings additional Heist Toques and Hooligan Caps into both stores, as well as solid flannels, shirting and henleys for the men and Grace Infinity scarves and Portman felt hats for the ladies. Founded in Los Angeles, California in 2009, THVM Atelier (pronounced 'them') is a collective of creative minded people dedicated to designing and producing quality premium denim at an affordable price. THVM’s principals are based in the collaboration and relationship with multi-disciplinary arts. The brand’s aesthetic aim is to create sophisticated and refined designs, while being accessible to a wide audience. Simplicity is the core of the basics collection, allowing an individual to express their style and personality without the interference of over embellishment.

The Los Angeles offices of THVM are housed in a century old factory that is home to a collective of artists, designers and musicians. The collective group works side by side, each in their own disciplines, and shares insight into the creative process. THVM hosts events that showcase local artists and performers and opens it’s studios to the public on a regular basis.

The interaction with diverse creative minds feeds the design of the collection, resulting in fresh and progressive styles originating from exploration. The washes may derive from the subtle grain of a photograph or the finish of a sculptural installation. The cuts may be inspired by the angular crescendo of a musical score and the movement from an accompanied dance. The core identity and inspiration for THVM is to share and celebrate the wonders, struggles, and beauty of the creative process.

Hansel from Basel is an independent legwear company based in Los Angeles, California. Inspired by the small and lovely details of everyday life, their goal is to create subtle yet beautiful socks, tights, leggings, and accessories. Hansel From Basel aims to create each product with a sensibility that is spirited and unique, just like the lovely ladies who wear them.

Autumn is easily our strongest season for warm accessories - and the super special leggings, tights, socks & accessories we've just brought in from Los Angeles will keep our girls warm & cozy through the chilly Victoria autumn. Hansel From Basel donegal nep and kneepad tights dissapeared off our shelves when we introduced them last autumn, and this year looks to be no exception. Chunky, warm, flecked & detailed with toes, heels & kneepads, these are ideally worn under wooly skirts or dresses (or even layered under some relaxed denim or chinos). In addition we've received pindot and curtain tights, chevron stripe detailed hosiery, rib wool tights and dressier flat knit silk tights.

Lovely socks and tights are now available from Hansel From Basel at Still Life For Her.

Tony Patella, who launched Tellason Denim with his longtime friend and business partner Pete Searson (hence “Tellason”), says his goal is to “make the best product possible and put it in the best stores possible.” To achieve that, the duo produce their entire range in San Francisco, the birthplace of American denim. “Denim is a product that needs to be made artisanally,” he says. “San Francisco is where denim should be made.” Keeping production local isn’t the only area in which Patella and Searson refuse to compromise. From sourcing denim from Cone Mills' White Oak plant in Greensboro, North Carolina, to using leather patches made by Portland, Oregon's Tanner Goods, to examining every finished pair by hand, the two do it all entirely on their own terms.

The men's retail fashion industry is rife with consumer denim options and not exactly hurting for another selvedge, heavy denim brand clocking in at price that makes you check your bank balance before you check your waist size. But with Tellason Denim offering United States production on every single part of their jeans and quality assurance & fits that aren't easily replicated, they're putting as much energy, focus and vision into the $195 price tag a pair of Tellason Denim comes with as they possibly can. A slim tapered jean made from a limited roll of White Oak Cone Mills white selvedge denim. Named after the legendary west London area, Ladbroke Grove 12.5 oz draws some inspiration from the slim, tapered styles seen through the late 1960s and 1970s in the area.
• 1977.03 John Graham Mellor / Slim Straight / Cone Mills White Oak 14.75 oz Selvedge Denim. Named in homage to the legendary Clash guitarist Joe Strummer (real name John Graham Mellor) this is a slim straight fit with ultra simple dark ecru stitching on the back pocket and down the mid-thigh. Made from a 14.75 White Oak Cone Mills white selvedge denim.
• 10012.02 Ankara / Straight Leg / Cone Mills White Oak 12.5oz Selvedge Denim. A straight-leg five pocket jean with antiqued button fly and hardware, double-thick back pocket lining for durability. As with all Tellason denim, heavy-duty selvedge White Oak Cone Mills denim produced in San Francisco with leather back patch by Tanner Goods in Portland, OR.

Consciously moving away from their skate-boarder, surfer and graffiti roots, Rick Klotz's Freshjive has been thoughtfully re-imagined as a more modern, designer, contemporary men's line while still staying true to its street culture senses and on-point pricing. Freshjive balances comfortably forward fashion (without trying to scare off loyal fans) with heritage staples and clean design, resulting in a fresh, new look for a brand that has been competing strongly within the ready-to-wear men's fashion game for 20 years.

Autumn 2011 pulls inspiration from classic men's looks, offering unique details and fabrications to give them the proper Freshjive treatment. Big arrival today For Him & For Her from our favourite California casual line, Brixton. In the years we've stocked Brixton we've watched the line grow from a straight forward headwear & accessories line, into a fully expanded retail fashion lifestyle/apparel brand with a proper range of goods including those same classic accessories to newly developed knitwear, cut & sew wovens, outwear and bottoms.

Autumn 2011 sees Brixton expand at Still Life For Him to include a strong offering from their new apparel division: flannels in solid black (and brown plaid), layer henley tees, hooded vests with detachable arms & hood and compact canvas jackets as well as leather wallets, felt caps, snap-back hats and their classic colour options in toques and knit headwear. This first delivery, and really the brand as a whole, is made for the young guys in the city ripping around in these last few weeks of sunshine on their skateboards and fixies - or hunkered down in the garage with their motorcycles and guitars. Arriving at Still Life For Her is a range of Brixton's women's headwear: felt hats, poorboy hooligan caps and the leather-brimed fiddler hat.

Inspired by music, culture, and the people who surround them, Brixton is the collaboration of three friends who wanted to convey their lifestyle through unique products.
