it's no secret how excited the still life guys get over new arrivals from california's clae shoes - and we're happy to see that same excitement fill the faces of the hoardes of guys coming through the doors snapping up these modern, sophisticated sneakers offered season after season by clae. our first spring drop from early march is almost sold through - with the brand new bailey style and returning favourite russell leading the pack with on point leather, suede & denim detailing. today we're elated as our second spring arrival from the 10 year old shoe company rolled through the doors offering two new spring styles for the men of victoria. click through the pictures above to see available styles and read on for a rundown of colour way availability at still life.

designed in southern california since 2001, clae shoes offer our favorite footwear options on the men's side of the store for year-round, multi-purpose footwear. from our young guys looking for sharp, modern sneakers with some sophistication to our full grown men expecting more from a shoe than just something to wear casually with jeans. clae fuses the comfort of athletic footwear with the aesthetic of traditional dress-inspired styling.

our first 2011 clae delivery bring two of our favorite styles back onto the shelves at still life, and introduces one of the new silhouettes for the season that we're excited to show off in complete full and half sizes:

• the strayhorn in caramel leather. full grain leather upper with two sets of cotton cord laces, leather lined upper and a latex footbed on a modern cup sole. the strayhorn delivers a seemingly basic form with quiet confidence in shape and function. these mid-tops lend an air of charm with a splash of sophistication without missing a beat.
• the russell in black denim. cotton denim upper with leather accents and two sets of laces: waxed cotton and nylon woven. leather lined upper and custom foodbed on a modern cup sole. with its sublimely simple styling incorportating a smooth pull up leather and a classic up sole, the russell is the thinking man's mid-top. its supple leather lining and the cloud-like feel of a custom molded footbed will have your feet feelign like they are flying high.
• the bailey in oxblood nubuck leather. nubuck and full grain leather upper with nylon cord laces. leather lined upper and a latex footbed on a modern cup sole. with roots in a fine lineage of casual shoes, the bailey (new for 2011) retains the essence of its predecessors while pushing its boundaries forward. created on an athletic sole, using supple leathers and nubuck in a slim profile, the bailey is style with smarts. find yourself slipping them on for many occasions and consider this a new way to move.

we always have a tough time when it comes down to placing orders for clae as the entire line is always so good. we end up having to look at what are our obvious, undeniable favorites and regrettably trim the rest from the list. this autumn we're fully stocked in four styles ranging from low to high tops with both suades, nubuck leathers canvas and wools making up our first fall drop:

• with a simple yet elegant design that defies definition with each step, the ellington (in walnut suade & brick) delivers sophistication without pretension. built on a solid yet subtle rubber sole that brings flexibilty and comfort, the ellington is a celebration of both style and substance.
• explore the world around you in the rugged, yet refined character of the khan (in grizzly nubuck leather). robust, pull up bootleather and a versatile, removable ankle strap are ready for anything. built on a modern cupsole construction the khan provides added comfort with a custom footbed and leather lined interior. for work, play, walking, running and everything else you can imagine.
• with its deceptively simple lines and smooth casual styling, the mcqueen (in charcoal grey wool) is the anti-hero shoe. it revisits the classic desert boot, but aids and assists both the great escape and the getaway with its custom footbed and modern rubber sole. crafted in fine wool with unexpected details the mcqueen epitomizes the quintessential cool of the west. put pedal to the metal and speed through a sea of sand.
• like a brother to the ellington, strayhorn (in black) delivers a seemingly basic form with quiet confidence in shape and function. these mid-tops lend an air of charm with a splash of sophistication without missing a beat.

spring 2010 marks our second season with clae shoes. the american shoe company, established in 2001, delivers modern classics filling the void between sneakers and shoes. clae captures the lifestyle and momentum of the modern consumer, appealing to men of any generation.

this spring we're seeing shoes with perforated leathers and suades, hemp and canvas and leather trim. the footbeds on clae shoes are always ridiculously comfortable, and once you've slipped into a pair you can feel the ultra strong support that they've built into each shoe.

if the clae aw2009 drop was any indication, these strong, dependable shoes will fly out the door at still life quickly.
