During the 2009 Danish spring, Rasmus Bak, Pernille Schwarz & Munch Ovesen spent long, creative nights developing what would become Libertine-Libertine. Based on a different set of values and their own, personal approach to the fashion scene, the trio began developing a prolific, dynamic & creative platform to feature different projects ranging from the retail fashion brand to music & art collaborations based on existentialism, high quality and well-designed products. Offering a choice of reworked and updated basics for men and women inspired by the city lights, wild shores and contemporary culture of their home country, the retail fashion label has received glowing praise and international press since its inception.

Libertine-Libertine debuted last AW11 at Still Life For Him & For Her to a fantastic reception at both shops. The quality construction of very specialized shirting, outerwear, knits and fashion designs combined with the brands unique finishing details helped the collection work its way to a complete sell through by season's end. This very first Spring 2012 delivery from the creatives minds at Libertine-Libertine brings the same attention to quality, fit, individuality and Danish styling to Victoria with basic tees, strong shirting, seasonal knitwear and beautiful fashion dresses arriving in time for the most inspiring time of year in the Garden City.

A big spring welcome to Gestuz, arriving this weekend at Still Life For Her in Victoria. We originally planned on debuting the 5 year old Danish fashion brand this coming Autumn, but after seeing the available styles for Spring 12 we absolutely had to rush an immediate delivery to the store for our girls.

Founded in Kolding, Denmark in 2007. Gestuz captivates a new generation of independent girls. The brand is inspired by backstage rock n roll life with a hint of elegance and sweetness; this complimented by strong and cutting edge print stories and a small selection of handcrafted, eye-catching pieces offers the ladies of Victoria a chance to stand out from the crowd with pieces that make them feel modern, sexy, playful and strong.

In just handful of seasons, Gestuz has made its mark as the new generation of girls’ dearest fashion brand. The formula has been to offer a rich mix of crafted knitwear, high-quality leather pieces, super sexy dresses and cutting edge denim. Their mission is to let the consumer discover their own personal style by making clothes that speak for the moment, but won't feel played out twelve months later. Gestuz pledges that even as current styles and seasons change, they will never lose touch with the girl on the street, who was the spark that started the brand.

Still Life staff favourite Libertine-Libertine has finally debuted this weekend at Still Life For Her (after arriving first at For Him at the end of September to a huge response) and with the recent shift in temperatures and the rich autumn colours starting to show through in our local deciduous forests, the brand couldn't have arrived at a better time. The subtle details and self developed art work are the brand’s signature and a strong point of this fall collection. Using a colour palette consisting of burnt orange, brown and numerous blues Libertine-Libertine express a mood perfect for the start of truly autumnal weather.

Since founding Libertine-Libertine in Copenhagen just two years ago, creators Rasmus Bak, Pernille Schwarz and Peter Munch Ovesen have brought their unique mixture of confident colour stories and original, precise detailing to a retail fashion industry seemingly saturated by repeated trends. Strongly inspired by city lights, wild shores and the Danish maritime history Libertine-Libertine’s Autumn 2011 collection shows a versatile range of playful and energetic designs in high quality fabrics.

We've received silk navy blouses, dresses and tunics, rich pumpkin-coloured shirts and heather grey trousers and knitwear to wear under some stunning funnel-neck coats and jackets (ideal to keep your face & neck warm when the wind picks up off the water) from Libertine-Libertine giving our Still Life For Her girl unique, Scandinavian-designed pieces to add to her autumn wardrobe and protect her from the impending chill. Don't let the gorgeous sunshine trick you into leaving the house underdressed Victoria, the temperature is slowly creeping down as the days grow shorter.

Still Life For Him will introduce Libertine-Libertine to the gentlemen of Victoria this week (with an autumn collection For Her arriving soon), and all of us at the shop are extremely excited about the arrival of this new line. Fitting in as one of the more fashion focussed brands with a statement of their own to make, Libertine-Libertine will find a home with the Still Life man who needs quality, precision craftsmanship combined with subtle though entirely unique detailing.
