our ever-growing sundry display wall at the back of the store received three new editions this week, with greeting cards, notepads and ballpoint pens filling the space:

  • IBM "think" note jotters: when IBM CEO thomas watson sr joined C-T-R in 1914, he brought with him the "think" slogan. by the 1930's, the word had become famous as IBM's corporate motto. now it's an icon tied forever to IBM. these slim, textured vinyl note pads have been standard issue in IBM creative offices for decades. synthetic caramel faux-leather  wrapped over cardboard with "THINK" embossed on the front cover, the notepads (or "thinkpads") come with two refills and are sized 3" X 4.25" to fit neatly in any shirt, jacket or pant pocket.
  • kikkerland design inc retro pens (sets of 5): since 1992, the folks at kikkerland design have traveled the world in search of original designs for things that can make life more enjoyable. clever things to intrigue you. smart things that make everyday tasks easier. and gentle things that make you feel happier when you use them. in retro, two-toned colour combinations, their blue ink ball point pens come in sets of 5 to keep creativity constantly running through your fingertips.
  • dani press greeting cards: a long time ago dani kreeft heard that to get the things you want in life, you have to first decide what you want. she cut out the self-doubt, let go of the word "should", drove away from the noise and eventually knew what she wanted. her beautiful line of greeting cards comes from ten years of wanting: a card line of wayward travel photos and old typewriter text to inspire people, to give them the words they want to say but don't know how to, to give something meaningful.
