A well-made lifestyle brand with roots in skateboarding and casual lifestyle accessories, we've moved forward into Autumn 2011 with WESC styles available For Him. With a history in active performance sports, WESC denim & chinos are regularly some of our fastest selling at the store. Priced to move and made to move in, the WESC Eddy Chino is easily our best performing (and most affordably priced) slim chino in the store at any given time - available now in rich bronze and classic navy.

Also available For Him, WESC baggage - shoulder totes/laptop bags, weekend bags and duffel/gym bags in black or navy. Durable, well-styled and priced to move, these bags sold fast last autumn with UVIC & Camosun students heading bag to school. we've had a lot of big arrivals at still life this week, and rounding out the pack is swedish street wear favourite, wesc. the stockholm-based crew of creative thinkers, tinkerers & focussed individuals produces some of the most wearable garments in the store season after season, and the wesc delivery this week offers some key ingredients to a solid spring 2011 look.

we're stocked up in our favorite wesc denim (the slim & the kelvin), shorts (the conway, the ireland & the wyatt) and our new favorite chino (the kelvin, an anti-fit with tapered leg & button fly). we've also seen our first swimsuits of the season arrive for our girls, a two-piece bikini (the lindsey top & hillary bottoms) and a one-piece (the katie) - all bathing suit styles come in nautical navy & white (with gold) or fiery red & scarlet.

as always we've also received a full offering of our favourite wesc headphones (the banjo, the oboe, the maraca & the snare) in a variety of colours, and wallets (the joakim & the yngwie) in black and loden green.

today, april 29 2010 is the 20th anniversary of the bc children's hospital foundation's jeans day! at the end of every april over the past 20 years bc offices and schools have accepted donations in exchange for pins or buttons showing your support of the bc children's hospital foundation's annual event.

we're thrilled to participate this year, on the foundation's 20th anniversary, by offering a women's premium denim event to coincide with the event. from today, april 29th, on through to mother's day, may 9th, we will be offering 25% off any women's premium from joe's, acne, genetic and wesc with a minimum $5 donation to the bc children's hospital! in addition to your donations, still life has set a $1000 donation goal that we will match and donate to the bc children's hospital in may!

we get through a lot of premium denim at still life. in a city like victoria a great pair of jeans will last you all day every day for years and years. our women's denim display is currently overflowing with denim styles for all our girls ready to get into a new pair of jeans for spring 2010.

for us, spending a little more on jeans works when you realize the fit and longevity a pair of premium denim is offering you. thousands of hours go in to designing the fits offered by denim companies like joe's, acne or nudie, and the quality of construction will have you returning for another pair once you realize you've worn a new jean for 2 weeks straight. getting into premium denim on the women's side we're seeing about 2-3% stretch material woven in with all denim to ensure a nice, snug fit on the thights & bum and allowing for give in the jeans without bagging out and looking frumpy after only a couple of wears.

this spring we're seeing the takeover of the denim legging! joe's jeans and genetic denim are both offering denim legging options at still life, with even more stretch fabric woven through to allow for an ultra snug fit to be styled with an oversized boyshirt or cropped up with a pair of flats or gladiators come summer.

wesc, founded in stockholm, sweden in 1999, is a fantastic casual brand we move through quick here at still life. the folks at wesc involve themselves heavily in the skate, music, design culture and as a result have a loyal group of weactivists around the globe. from legendary skateboarder steve berra to film & tv star jason lee (a legendary skater in his own right), the weactivists campaign for the brand under a banner of style, friendship, and casual lifestyle within their respective creative communities. wesc works hard within these communities, resulting in some great collaborations that end up in the hands of their loyal fanbase. headphone collabo's with steve aoki, the boys at ed banger records, and most recently the berrics crew and shoe collabo's with adidas show the brand's desire to push creativity forward and work together on compositions.
